Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles struck the country's power systems, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city experienced intense attacks overnight. A minor died and several individuals were hurt.

The strikes come after nights of air raids in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
